In May 2011, the Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia (MIC Armenia) was created and joined this global network of innovation and development efforts initiated by Microsoft.
MIC Armenia focuses on providing support to the local community to stimulate the development of new startups that are competitive and successful in the marketplace. Arpine is the Director of Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia since September 2014. Before coming to MIC Armenia she had over 20 years of Human Resources Management, Financial and Managerial experience in IT and startup environments in San-Francisco, USA and Armenia. She is resourceful, organized and positive person who is a team player with strong leadership skills. She never misses a deadline and never loses track of the goal and objective in line. Arpine is committed to lead MIC activities and use the accumulated potential and resources to scale the business.
Being born in Armenia and living almost 20 years abroad, 15 in USA and 4 in Switzerland, Arpine repatriated back to Armenia in April of 2014. Mother of two children, she successfully manages home and career.
Artashes has joined MIC team in 2014 to design and manage the MIC startup acceleration program. Coming from the vibrant startup world Artashes brought fresh thinking and his hands on experience in dreaming an idea and bringing it to life. He is passionate about startup movement in Armenia and enjoys contributing in building a cempetitive and scalable startup eco-system. Most of all he loves the feeling of being part of a really important big thing, connecting startups with mentors and potential investors, sharing experience and knowledge with others. He has already worked with more than 15 startups from US, UK, India, Canada and raised over 300$K for 4 startups.
Positive, open minded and persistant – he is the new driving force of MIC efforts to become a go- to startup hub in Armenia and the region.
Armina came to MIC Armenia as a Project Assistant. Soon, she became more and more involved in event management and public relations working her way up to Communications officer. Armina is responsible for the organization of MIC Armenia’s idea generation contests such as Hackathon[YAN], Imagine cup, Your phone, Your apps. She also tells the world about MIC by handling our website and FB page updates.
She is passionate about photography, travelling and football team FC Barcelona.
With both linguistic and marketing background from years of studying at Yerevan State Linguistic University and Chartered Institute of Marketing in London, Sona brought her experience, professional attitude and endless energy to make our trainings high-quality, engaging and always demanded. She stands behind projects like MIC Internship program, Corporate trainings and MTA certification.
Sona is fond of classic music, dance, travelling and sending emails with training announcements.
Ani joined our team in 2013. She is the Coordinator of Eagro project, an online electronic marketplace for buying and selling agricultural commodities. Though Ani didn’t have work experience in agricultural sphere before, she is definitely dedicated to personally know every single apricot producer in Armenia in the nearest future. Her sharp brain for interpersonal communication, boundless enthusiasm and beautiful smile have helped to create fruitful partnerships and network to promote the rapid growth of the project with the aim to bring the new technologies to Armenian villages.
Ani is our local fashion expert. She likes shopping, reading and spending time with her son.
Davit has graduated from the State Engineering University of Armenia and also holds an MA from International Accountancy Training Center. He is always there to secure the financial part of all our initiations. He ensures the smooth and in –time flow of our financial documents, invoices, contracts and reports. He is known as being highly organized and detail-oriented personality.
Beneath his serious look and rather rigid voice lives an exceptional party lover and dancer. In his spare time Davit loves spending time with friends and playing football.
Every time you visit MIC Armenia you meet Heghine – cheerful girl with a charming smile. She is aware of everything that is going on in MIC. She supports training and event organization, handles all the complicated adminstrative issues, answers inquiries and helps people to better understand our activities.
She is also a caring personality and the local food expert. She loves cooking herself, so we are blessed to always have her home-made yummy cookies here.
