“Innovation Day 2010” initiated by Microsoft Armenia was held on 30 July at Marriott Hotel.
 
The main aim of the event is to show the company’s vision of its technological development. RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan also participated and developed a welcoming speech at “Innovation Day 2010”.
 
During the event, Grigor Barseghyan, country manager of Microsoft Armenia, presented “Cloud Computing” program, which allows small and medium enterprises acquiring corporate program solutions of Microsoft in the form of services without large investments.
The company has entered into an agreement with Ministry of the Economy and the Yerevan State Technological Institute regarding the new innovation center, which will be housed on one entire floor in the Institute. Mr. Barseghyan said the work of the center is already underway at the “Enterprise Incubator Foundation” facilities.
 
During the event the Director of “developWay“ Davit Kocharyan presented Microsoft Learning Gateway which supports the development of distance learning and e-education in Armenia. Microsoft Learning Gateway was created by "developWay", Microsoft Armenia and Enterprise Incubator Foundation. It includes the main elements for managing the educational process and gives an opportunity to all system users to be more informed about and a part of those processes.
 
Within the framework of Innovation Day 2010 the company summed up the results of the final round of “Imagine Cup Armenia 2010”. The Imagine Cup is an annual worldwide series of student technology competitions focused around Microsoft technology and encouraging young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world. The winning team "Casper" will take part in the Worldwide Finals held this year in Warsaw, Poland.
